We envision a compassionate and connected Kansas City community where every burn survivor and their family feels supported, empowered, and never alone in their recovery journey.

Our mission is to support and empower burn survivors and their families in the Kansas City area through advocacy, financial assistance, and networking opportunities. We are dedicated to improving quality of life, promoting healing and resilience, and strengthening our community through outreach and collaboration.

Our Mission

A person with a large, red burn injury on their arm is being treated by a medical professional wearing blue gloves. The professional is cleaning or dressing the wound with medical tools and gauze.

Our Strategy For Burn Care

Dr. Julia Slater

A person gives a thumbs-up while wearing a blue medical compression sleeve on their arm, with a tattoo visible near the wrist, and another person wearing a black glove with a red and white logo is pointing at it.

What Do We Do?

Our Burn Foundation is dedicated to supporting burn survivors throughout their healing journey. We provide financial assistance for burn compression garments, which are essential for proper scar management. We also supply specialized skin care products that help keep healing skin well moisturized, promoting comfort and long-term skin health. To foster emotional healing and a sense of community, we also sponsor individuals to attend burn camps and retreats, where they can connect with others who share similar experiences, build confidence, and continue their recovery in a supportive and uplifting environment.

If you are requesting financial assistance with compression garments, please download the Request for Financial Assistance Application via the link below, and email it to us at kcburnfoundation@gmail.com. If you are requesting sponsorship or assistance with attending a burn camp or retreat, please email us directly using the contact us link.

I survived a hydraulic oil fire, managed and moved on! I am 35% burned waist down to ankles front and back and went back to work. YOU can too.
